Life story:

I never really had any religious upbringing as a child, my parents encouraged me to make my own mind up about life. My mother was Roman Catholic (but didn't attend church) and my father didn't discuss his beliefs very much, but he was something of an Athiest with some metaphysical beliefs thrown inbetween. I attended church (Catholic, Anglican and another I was too young to remember the name of) a handful of time when I was young of my own inititive, and found after the initial boring sermons I forced myself to try and listen to and attempt to make sense of I didn't think Christianity was for me. I thought that religion was to fill you with joy, not contradiction and discomfort. I fluttered around various other religions like Buddism, Judasism and finally settled into something I found more comfortable and that made sense to me; Spiritualism.

Once I was about 11 years old, I watched a certain movie about Witches and decided to try and find Witchcraft information on the internet. I hopped on Yahoo! and was given a link to a catagory labled: Wicca & Witchcraft. My naturally curious mind clicked on the unfamiliar word and I began researching about Wicca. The next 24 months of my spiritual journey were filled with magical dabblings, little unstructured spells and learning about the God and Goddess. I came to love the feeling of rightness I had within these beliefs, but something else happened during those two years that left me wandering around various other parts of Paganism lost for years. I started talking to other Wiccans, both my age and mixed older people. Most of the older people dismissed me at 'hello' and started to label me 'one of those annoying fluffs again' when I would try and ask questions. I disliked this negativity and felt like being Wiccan was wrong, because these 'Real Witches' were not talking to me and being rather horrible. I dropped all my beliefs I once loved out of fear of not 'fitting in' and appearing 'fluffy'.

Six years later, I have learnt enough about myself and my faith not to be afraid of what other people think. I'm not 'fluffy' and I consider myself pretty knowledgeable on the subject of Wicca and Witchcraft (though no exspert by any stretch of the imagination).

Now I'm re-starting my spiritual journey as an Eclectic Wiccan and making a real effort to get out and help as many people as I can, stick with my goals and once again I feel like I'm in the right place.
